Patricia Ann Arnold, 79, of Sparta, went to be with her Savior, on May 9, 2024. She was born May 26, 1944, in Colon, Republic of Panama. Pauline lived much of her life in St. Petersburg, Florida, and moved to Sparta, in 1996
Preceding her in death were her biological father, Albert Arnold (1954); her mother, Muriel Whitman (2019); her ‘papa,’ John Whitman (2019); and her brother, Bill Arnold (2019).
Pauline is survived by her beloved sister, Barbara, and was a cherished sister-in-law to Chuck whom she lovingly called “Sissy” and “Chuckie.” Pauline lived with Barbara and Chuck during her journey with Alzheimer’s. She was loved by her aunt, Frances Haile (David), and her nephews: John Arnold (Amy), Bill Arnold (Ashley), Devin Umberger (Becky), Teague Umberger (Ashley), and Ryan Lancaster. Pauline will be deeply missed by her many surviving cousins, in particular Muriel and Carol, special friends, and the invaluable help she received from Pam Bowman during her battle with Alzheimer’s.
Throughout her life, Pauline was known for her pleasant and happy demeanor, especially during her courageous fight against Alzheimer’s. She found joy in making others smile and laugh, particularly children, nieces, and nephews. She loved to go on adventures with her sister! A special outing earlier on was with “Chuckie” to eat at ‘Frank’s!’ Pauline had a passion for photography, drawing, and horses. She also loved animals and surrounded herself with donkeys, horses, and goats when she moved to Tennessee, in 1996.
Pauline dedicated nearly three decades of her career serving the constituents of Pinellas County, Florida, working for Congressman William Cramer and Congressman Bill Young. She was a proud alumna of St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida. Though she lived in Tennessee, Pauline considered Panama home and was fortunate to have spent her childhood in the Panama Canal Zone. She enjoyed attending the Panama Canal reunions.
A celebration of life for Pauline will be held at a later date to allow friends and family to attend. Pauline attended church at Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church when she was able. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice.
