Kelly Eugene Sherrell, 56, of the Bon Air community, of White County, passed away Sept. 2, 2024, at his residence.
Kelly was born Sept. 10, 1967, in Sparta, to Johnny V. Sherrell and Susan Rosemay Cody Sherrell.
Kelly worked as a butcher at a variety of places, most notably at Food Lion for 20 years. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he could most often be found in the woods or on the water. In addition, Kelly enjoyed competing in tractor pulls aboard his Farmall tractor. More than anything, he loved being Pa to his granddaughter. Kelly was a proud veteran of the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kristy Sherrell; two daughters, Kella (Joe) Hill, Ashlee Sherrell; granddaughter, Kenlee Rose Hill; father, Johnny Sherrell; sister, Robin (Chad) Jolley; nephew, Casey Jolley; niece, Madison Jolley; and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends.
Graveside service, with full military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard, will be 1 p.m., Sept. 5, 2024, at Old Bon Air Cemetery. Paul Sherrell will officiate.
There will be no public visitation prior to the service.
