Ernest “Keith” Pirtle, 73, passed away peacefully, on July 3, 2024, at home with friends and family, after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 3, 1950, to William Ernest and Retha Howard Pirtle.
Keith retired from Star Industries of Smithville. He loved working on old trucks, playing pool with his friends and most of all caring for his three beloved dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Poe Pirtle, and ex-wife, Becky Fields Pirtle.
He had two sisters, Edna Louise Cole (Edward) and Linda Gail Dabbs (Darrel). He has two sons, Jesse Pirtle (Susan), of Knoxville, and Anthony Pirtle, of Sparta. He also has two grandchildren, Justin and Katie Pirtle, and one great Grand “Grammy.”
A celebration of life was 5-7 p.m., July 18, 2024, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
