White County Middle School Warrior football team has made it to the playoffs! The WCMS Warriors will play Avery Trace Middle School, in Putnam County. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, at Avery Trace.
WCMS Coach Aaron Brown issued the following statement.
"We are excited to be in the playoffs this year. We have a lot of players who have never played football or haven't played in a long time. We definitely have had some growing pains with that, but I'm proud that they have put themselves in a situation to compete for a championship. We have never had a losing season since I have been here, but this is only the second team to make the playoffs. It just shows you how hard it is to get in.
"We will have our hands full Thursday with a very athletic Avery Trace team. We need to be able to not limit ourselves with mental errors and mistakes and give them a lot of chances to run away with the game. If we play like we are capable, anything can happen, and hopefully we can give ourselves a chance by the end of the game."
