The White County Warriorettes’ soccer team has faced a challenging week on the field, with two tough losses against formidable opponents.

On Aug. 19, 2024, the Warriorettes took on the Macon team, which showcased a solid possession game. The match ended in a tough 8-0 defeat for White County. Despite rotating in some younger players, the Warriorettes struggled to recover from a 5-0 halftime score.

“We have to start getting more aggressive and not be afraid to put a body on someone,” Coach Madison Mason reflected on the game. “We have to stay locked in from the moment we step on the field, and I’m not sure we did that tonight.”

The team returned to the field, on Aug. 22, to face the Watertown Tigerettes. Although the Warriorettes lost 3-0, they showed improvements, winning many of the 50/50 balls and demonstrating a more aggressive approach throughout the match.

“I was incredibly proud of how hard my team fought until the final whistle,” Mason said. “I really do believe they never gave up.”

Coach Mason acknowledged a couple of learning moments, noting, “While we did give away two penalty kicks due to handballs in the 18-yard box, it’s a learning experience for us, and we will take it in stride.”

She also highlighted the contributions of several freshmen, saying, “I want to give a special shoutout to Kaydence Redmon, Haylee Hill, and Hannah Rabchenia. They have been playing significant minutes at the varsity level and making impactful plays for our team.”
