Gabriel Wiles named National Merit finalist

Homeschooled senior Gabriel Wiles was recently named a National Merit Finalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. To achieve this honor, Wiles first took the PSAT as a junior and scored in the top 1% of the 1.3 million students who took the exam. He then had to complete a detailed scholarship application, which included his academic record, participation in school, and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received.

Wiles was also named valedictorian of HomeLife Academy out of a class of 2,600 students. He plans to attend Harding University, in Searcy, Arkansas, to study engineering and theology. He is the son of Topher and Ashley Wiles.
