The search for a beloved former White County basketball coach will continue in full force today as members of the community converge on the Lovejoy Road property where Roy Whited was last seen.
Whited went missing May 3, 2024. According to White County Sheriff Steve Page, there have been exhaustive searches and in-depth investigative work in an attempt to locate Whited. However, no clues have been uncovered.
Hundreds of volunteers will arrive at the Lovejoy Road property at approximately 8 a.m., today, and will continue to search until 5 p.m. Sheriff Page has implemented strict guidelines for the volunteers to ensure their safety. The area that will be searched has overgrowth that is waist-high and above and is infested with snakes. Volunteers must sign a release form before they will be permitted to participate in the search.
