Hertz rental now has location at U.C. Regional Airport

Rental car management has reached Upper Cumberland Regional Airport.

During their April 2025 meeting, the Airport Board of Directors announced that Hertz, one of the largest car rental companies, has set up station at the airport.

This is big news for the airport, as they have so far had to rely on the slim rental options that the airport itself possesses. Instead, there is a now a dedicated company on site that can handle such transactions. In addition, this allows the airport to potentially repurpose their existing rentals for on-site travel and company cars. Airport manager Dean Selby was pleased with the deal.

“I think this will be good, having Hertz deal with the rentals, and it should bring in more revenue with them,” Selby said. “So, I am very happy and proud that we were able to get them in.”

The airport also has shown increased viability for a commercial passenger air service in the region. The study, conducted by Ailevon Pacific, shows that the Upper Cumberland is closing in on a high catchment area.

“We’re up to almost a million people in our catchment area,” Selby said. “They define catchment area based on demographics and how the people travel.”

Both the Hertz partnership and data shown by Ailevon Pacific shows immense growth in the airport’s development, which is also reflected by the engineering and construction underway with the airport’s newer hangars. The Huddleston and Meadows are both in construction to continue offering more options at the airport.

The board was pleased with all the new developments, unanimously passing the financial statements and budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. Selby, in particular, is excited for the continual growth for the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport.
